“War never again’’, said Pope Francis in Sarajevo today, addressing dozens of thousands of pilgrims at the Eucharistic celebration at “Asim Ferhatović Hase” stadium.
He said those words are yet another plea from a city and a country which experienced horrific suffering, murder, persecution and destruction during war in recent past.
‘’To create peace is a work of art in a way. Blessed are those who plant peace with their work. They will be called sons of God. Peace is the act of justice. True justice would be to do to a person, to people everything we wish to be done to ourselves and our people,’’ said Pope.
He called to forgiveness, to feelings that help people to become artists of peace building in their communities.
Pope Francis called for mercy towards everyone, justice, creating peace, not war.
Only that makes us happy and blissful, he said.
