Professor at the Franciscan Theology and Guardian of Monastery of Saint Anthony at Bistrik Friar Ivan Šarčević welcomes papal visit to Sarajevo on June 6 with great emotions.
He said he hopes his visit will be encouragement to Catholics to strengthen brotherhood and peace, inter-religious dialogue and friendship.
Professor Šarčević sees the Pope as a man who pays great attention to social issues.
‘’Especially because he took the name of Francis of Assisi, the order I belong to. It was a great challenge for me. Franciscan order – Franciscans have been present for a long time and we carry the fate of Catholic world and other peoples,’’ Šarčević told FENA.
Šarčević believes that visit of the Holy Father to BiH is extremely important for other people who live in BiH.
‘’I hope people will see it as a visit of a man who cares about world peace,’’ concluded Friar Ivan Šarčević.
